On May 16, Endeavor Bulgaria held in Plovdiv the second event for the year as part of the Dare to Scale series. The topic of the event, “Building an active entrepreneurial ecosystem”, brought together diverse attendance formed by local entrepreneurs, business leaders, venture capital community members, influencers, media and fellow NGOs.
Endeavor’s network of high-impact entrepreneurs is yet to be joined by a Plovdiv-born and raised company and we at Endeavor believe that it is just a matter of time before we select the first one. The Plovdiv region is one of Bulgaria’s most vibrant and competitive markets, as local economic growth reached double-digit figures in some of the recent years and it has become a preferred investment destination to a number of renowned multinationals, seeking to expand their operations and increase their presence in the Global marketplace. These should be elements of a great environment to build successful enterprises and our mission is to select them, mentor them and accelerate their growth.
The panel discussion was led by Lyubomir Minchev – Founder and CEO of Telelink Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Endeavor Bulgaria, Petar Ivanov – Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria and Endeavor Mentor, as well as Alexander Sumin and Tatyana Mitkova – Co-founders of ClaimCompass and Venelin Dimitrov – Founder of SoftGroup who represented the Endeavor’s entrepreneur network.
One of the panel discussions featured the Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv, Mr. Stefan Stoyanov, who gives voice and direction to the local administration on topics such as education, business development, EU policies and International affairs.
The event was joined by Leona Aslanova – Founder at Innovation Starter & Innovation Explorer Bulgaria and representatives from the Bulgarian Investment and Venture Capital community – Ivailo Gospodinov – Managing Partner at Black Peak, Todor Breshkov – Co-Founder and Managing Partner at LAUNCHub Ventures.
Momchil Vassilev, Managing Director of Endeavor Bulgaria highlighted that “There are many scalable businesses outside the capital with a huge potential to grow internationally and to add value to their local economies.”
