Andrey started his career in 2000 having just graduated from Vassar College, New York. He joined Barclays Capital on Wall Street where he spent 5 years in Derivatives sales & trading. On 2005, motivated by a desire for career change, Andrey moved to London where he received an MBA from London Business School. Between 2007 and 2015 he worked in various ecommerce and digital marketing roles at Nike and then Diageo, owner of brands such as Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Baileys and others. Andrey’s corporate career culminated as Global Head of digital marketing for Johnnie Walker, the world’s most valuable spirits brand.

In 2016 Andrey moved back to Bulgaria and he became CMO BGmenu, Eastern Europe’s first food delivery marketplace founded by his brother. In 2019 the business was acquired by Takeaway, following which Andrey became co-owner and CEO of Matrax, a leading sleep goods company in the region. Since then, the business has doubled through organic growth and a major acquisition. 

Andrey’s area of expertise is sales, marketing and leadership. Last but not least he has learned many lessons through being the subject of an attempted hostile takeover, being on both sides of friendly acquisitions and leading the business through the covid crisis.
