Elvin is an experienced investor and entrepreneur in the field of financial services. He is currently the CEO of EMP Invest, an advisor to Empower Capital, a €16 million VC fund, financed by the JEREMIE program. He graduated from the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and History and started his career as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Sofia. In October 1996, he started working at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) where he spent five years travelling between London and Sofia.
In 2001-2002 Elvin co-founded JetFinance International – a financial institution for consumer credits. Up until its sale to BNP Paribas in July 2007, Jet Finance had turned into the largest independent consumer lender in Southeast Europe, allocating over 1.5 million loans amounting to €500 million across 700,000 individual clients. In addition, Elvin actively supports several educational initiatives in Bulgaria and Albania, including AUBG, Teach for Bulgaria, Junior Achievement Bulgaria and Junior Achievement Albania. He is also a member of the National Economic Council to the Prime Minister of Albania.
